Medical Director - PruittHealth - Macon
Monday - Friday routine business hours in our beautiful post-acute care environment
Job Purpose:
PruittHealth Physician Services is seeking an experienced Medical Director to lead clinical care and ensure high-quality, patient-centered services in post-acute and long-term care settings. As a leader in geriatric care, you will oversee facility-wide clinical operations, lead care process improvement initiatives, and support ongoing education for staff and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Medical Practice Leadership
- Lead facility care teams, setting clinical standards for exceptional patient care.
· Care Process Leadership
- Guide the implementation of clinical and administrative protocols.
- Support risk management and improve safety outcomes.
· Quality of Care
- Develop and manage quality improvement programs.
- Monitor facility compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations.
· Education, Communication, and Leadership
- Provide ongoing education and communication to staff, patients, and the community.
- Mentor healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioners and medical trainees.
· Employee Health & Community Advocacy
- Ensure staff well-being through infection control measures.
- Serve as an advocate for resident rights, patient self-determination, and advance care planning.
Minimum Requirements:
· Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
· Experience:
- At least 3 years of clinical experience in a geriatric, adult, or family medicine setting.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a healthcare role.
· Licensure:
- Current state medical license.
- Board certification in Geriatrics or a relevant field.
- Active DEA licensure (Class II-V unrestricted).
- CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Geriatric Medicine Board Certification.
- Hospice and Palliative Medicine Board Certification.
- Significant experience in long-term care, hospice, or wound care.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a plus.
Key Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Expertise in geriatric and palliative care.
- Ability to manage quality assurance initiatives (QAPI).
- Proficient in care planning for complex patients, including end-of-life care.
